Default Exo terra ceramics

I thought I would post this to get other peoples views on this product. In all my vivs i use ceramic heaters and having 6 from exo terra and all 6 yes 6 ceramics blowing on me ive decided never to but another!!!!

ive had 4 x 150w blow. and 2 x 250w blow wich by the way you have to get guards specially made.

all the cheepo's ive baught from ebay for less than half the price have stood the test of time and lasted for years but the exos last around 6-12 months!! is this just a racket to make more money or what???? at about 22-25 pounds per lamp its getting a bit tidious

let me know your views

cheers
lou

The cheap ones from ebay are good quality, the 250watt ceramic I bought also has a 2 year guarentee, exo terra do also I believe but you don't half pay for it. Also with exo terras the metal screw fixings are never very strong.

I use Pearlco ceramics and get them from ebay. I personally don't see the point in paying extra for a brand name when they all do the same job

but they are supposed to do that same job, they do if you think about it just not as long as they should do

I just need to find a reflector dome that takes upto 250w ceramics

I'v onlu recently switched to ceramics from bulbs, and the exo terras, iv gone through 3 already in a month. However, my Komodo one has lasted. Prefer the shape too. Also have a ReptileOne one too, and thats nice, black colour, and smaller size with the same wattage as Exo Terra or anyting else.

The ones with a large flat surface I have found to be far more efficient at heating than the normal bulb shaped ones.
