I would doubt it is permanent - I guess they have slapped his wrists to exert a bit if control and to send a message to the more strong willed forumites.

Trust me mate, freedom of speach does not apply to a privately owned forum. The forum owner is legally responsible for what is said on here after all. So they can (And often will) censor and ban who they want, when they want and how they want.

That said moderation on this forum is very, very tolerant to others I post on. So it's not all bad. The other thing is I doubt any mods will ever comment on why someone was banned. If they do they're wide open to comments, trouble from people who disagree with the action taken who may not know the whole story etc.

Then again the clique may be a big factor. But theres not much you can do about it other than start your own forum!
