Default Myth Busters : Snakes associate vivs opening with feeding

Snakes that are fed in their vivariums associate the vivarium being opened with being fed ?

Fact or Myth ?

I feed all mine in their tubs/vivs and it makes no odds. Still never been bitten.
I whip out their hides whether im feeding or getting out to handle. I do very little differently. If they get grabbed its getting out time, if a mouse or rat appears its feeding time.

I have voted myth too.

After millions of years of evolution and fine tuning of hunting techniques and prey recognition...

I find it hard to believe that they can mistake me for a mouse

Hmm i do have one who takes her mouse, bites, constricts then looks at me. I have to back up a little at this stage or she starts coming for me quite fast. Like im the biggest yummiest mouse shes ever seen

Shes like a kid with eyes bigger than her stomach.. its only when shes in feeding 'mode' though. Shes normally lovely.

I have a cali king that presumes that every time the viv is opened its time to eat something, not sure if this is feed response or just the fact that he is a git though

myth, i really disslike the arguament that you should feed out of the viv to avoid this, iv fed all my reps in their vivs for the 15 years or so iv kept them with no problems at all. their vivs are their terratory, why pull them away from it to feed them? makes no sence to me. If that argument has merit, then surely if you remove them for feeding they will associate handling with feeding?

If they are on Aspen, should you put snake in a different tub to feed. I do anyway but just wondered.
Thanks
