Cool While we're on topic...

I've read lots of conflicting advice on this in relation to my coastal carpet pythons...one EXPERT says as long as they'll eat it he'll feed it because in the first few years it goes to making them long not fat (Propagating Carpet Pythons). I'm keen to get them as long as possible, but absolutely not to any detriment of my snakes' health!!!

I'd been going with 1 small weaner rat every 4 days as long as they had poo'd in between which they always have. But out of fear for their health, I've decided to cut it to once a week. Would I be taking a risk by feeding every 5 days?

Please don't give me guesses...I'm confused already

I'm sure you already know the answer to this but do you think they would feed every 4/5 days in the wild? every 7 days is plenty feeding every 4 days to achieve length is power feeding IMO.

Unless there's a FEW CCP EXPERTS come on and tell me different and explain, I'm gonna go for once a week only. NO RISKS FOR MY BABIES!!!

I've only had them about 6 weeks and the guy who had them before was only feeding them on fuzzy mice which was too little imo. So hopefully they'll just have caught up and it won't have done them any damage - they're only 09's, but knocking back the rats and growing and pooping fast.

I vary the feeding times for my snakes, i generally feed them once a week but i will vary it sometimes and leave them for 10 days or even 2 weeks ( this is seldom). I hope that it would be more like how they would eat in the wild, as i am sure a mouse wouldn't run by every Wednesday morning at 11.30

I'm gonna do something like that too, they're getting a big enough meal, so letting them go a bit hungry first can only be good for them.
