Default Straight onto FT!

For those of you that don't know the story go start here! http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=5877

I know this is related but thought it was so exciting (for me anyway) that it deserved a new post of its own!

After feeding live I was unsure of what would happen next but with it being seven days since he took the Live Mouse I decided to try straight onto a FT. I sealed the frozen mouse it a sandwich bag and placed it in warm water to thaw out. Once it had thawed I then replaced the water with fresh warm water as it had gone a bit cold. This warmed the mouse a little. Meanwhile I placed the spray bottle on a heat mat so it wasn't cold. I took the mouse out of the bag and warmed it further with a hair dryer. Once I had done this I then opened the Royal's tub and sprayed it a few times with the already warm misting bottle. Then I offered the mouse using tongs, the snake struck a few times without actually feeding. One more try! Strike! As he started to constrict I flicked the mouse's legs onto the snakes body as I had seen the live mouse do as it was being constricted. It worked! I am so happy that he is now on the road to being a FT feeder!! Sorry if I have babbled but wanted to be as clear as possible for those who may have questions but of course, ask away if you still have any!!

Thanks for all your advise guys and wish me luck for the continued feeding of this little guy!!

Excellent!! Good luck with future feeds - and thanks for the description of how you persuaded him- so far my royal's feeding no problems but I'm always after tips for when the inevitable happens!
