Whats happend?
hey guys and gals. got a corn snake hatchling with a slight problem. i say slight as he is still acting normal and ate fine 3 days ago, but i noticed this when handling him earlier.
basically it looks like he's shed his pattern and part of his scales to reveal his smooth skin. thats as best as i can explain it. i've checked his rub for anything sharp or any sign of blood, bad shed or torn scales and nothing. Anyone have any idea?

Are you using a heat mat? If so is it connected to a thermostat? It could be a burn
 .

heat mats are switched off atm due to warmth in house

looks like a burn to me...and a thermal burn from a heat mat.

like i say, he hasnt been on a heat mat and he shed 6 days ago. everything seemed fine. it could be from a previous owner if he had them on the heat mat? i honestly dont know

looks like something you would have noticed if it was like it when you bought him...i cant think of anything else other than if it got caught somewhere and has torn its scales away in an attempt to get itself free.
