Default Travelling

I've found a snake shop in edinburgh and that is like a 40 min drive from my house. I'm just a little un sure as to how to transport the snake, i mean wont it get to hot/cold.

How are you supposed to travel with them?

Cheers, Ross

this time of the year it shouldnt be a problem, make sure its put in a sack, like the plastic hessian type ones, if its a hot day try to keep it cool by keeping it shaded and then just get home as soon as you can.

Good Luck

take a pillow case with you, plop the snake in that and do it up, then go straight home. dont leave it in the car for any length of time though, this time of year is far too dangerous. just last week, someone bought a leopard gecko from millenium reps, left in the car for about 5/10 mins while they got petrol and did a wee bit of shopping, come back and it was cooked. They had it in a plastic container, and left it in direct sunlight... needless to say, dont do that.

my advice, would be the pillow case or like mr boidae says, a hessian sack. but depending on the size of the snake, a plastic tank/tub (like the cheap ones you can get for goldfish etc) will be fine for a small one, provided that it has enough ventilation and it is kept out of the sun, and if possible a small hide and substrate of some description.
all of my snakes have been brought home in small plastic tubs supplied by the shop i go to, barring my big royal which was bought home in a remote control car box!

if and when ive transported mine around, ive used pillow cases and small tank, no problems.

Yeah 40 minutes should be fine.. you'll probably have to just keep it in the shade, like Luke says.. and dont have the AirCon on full blast

Don’t use a pillowcase as other bags are un-reliable. I had a 5 ft and angry Florida king escape from one of those woven stringy bags in the car. He pushed a hole through one of the corners and bit my dad, lol he wasn’t happy ‘cos ewe had to put it in his brief case.
