Default So Annoyed with Myself

Aaaargh I can't believe how stupid I've been, Fisk my Anery A corn is the serial re-gurger who has fed successfully for over two months now. I was so proud I'd got her to eat properly and then disaster struck. I had a flat inspection and i'm not allowed pets, (it actually specifies reptiles and other caged animals in my lease) so they all went on holiday upstairs for the day. When they came back down and got re-settled in, I didn't flick the switch for Fisk's heat mat. I didn't realsie until I got home from work yesterday to find a re-gurge in the tank, I'm so annoyed at myself, I can't believe she was doing so well and then I go and c*ck it up.

Everyone makes mistakes

I'm sure you wont do it again! If your Corn has a habit of feeding now I doubt she'll drop that after one unsuccesful attempt! Don't panic! But if she does you know what you did before!

Well what was the reason for the previous serial regurges? At least this time you can relate it directly to her not being warm enough. And yes it was a silly mistake but these things happen, at least you caught it in time before she got really cold. Don't panic just yet - it's one regurge, she might go right back to happily eating and digesting the way she was before the mishap.

Generally she's just a fussy cow, after months of trying I discovered that she will re-gurge if;

1. Fed less than 6 days apart, (so she's on 7 to be sure)
2. Fed the correct prey size, must be a bit smaller and barely make a lump
3. Disturbed in anyway up to 48 hours after feeding, (she's lefy for 36)
4. Occaisionally also if tease fed, god forbid she has to work for her food! Although this could have been in conjunction with another cause, just in case I don't do it anymore.

So God she sounds very particular. Snobby snake eh? But this time if she was just post feeding and she was moved around and didn't have the heat to digest it seems a bit like she didn't stand a chance. See how the next feed goes then worry if she's started doing it again.

Yeah I'm gonna leave it this Sunday (feeding day) and try again next week, so fingers crossed! She's been really good lately though so I think she'll be fine, I could just kick myself for letting this happen though!

Just to update, I popped into Snakes N Adders yesterday and spoke to Chaz about getting some pro-biotic to for her to hopefully help any damage done to her stomach. Instead he suggested worming her first to completely flush out her system before using the pro-biotic and offering food again, so for the next two weeks I'll be taking her down to the store and Chaz will worm her for me. Absolutely fantastic advice and this way she'll get dealt with correctly by someone who knows what they're doing! Thanks a lot Chaz your advice and help is much appreciated!

(See I told you I'd big you up!)
