royals CAN be good starter pets but you have to get a good feeder from a reliable breeder. but sometimes they can be hard to find. also knowledge is the key too keeping a royal

overall on comparision i say corns are the best.

There are loads of starter snakes, i already said to you, it depends what ou want
Do you want a snake to hold ?
Do you want a snake that is active at day or night ?
Do you want a stocky or thn snake ?
What is the length of the snake you want ?
If you answe them Q's it may make it alot easier to reccomend a species

you cant hold a royal for like a weej after you first get it. but i would recommend not holding it until it has actually eaten for you.

you can hold them just not often and royals will rarely bite(CB ones anyway) they would rather move away or curl into a ball when threatened

I say King snakes. started with them and love them to bits.. they can be a bit more aggressive than corns but you learn to deal with it after a few bites

I voted garter. Just something a little different. Hardy, underrated species.
