Heating underneith with polystyrene is fine, as long as the tub is big enough it should be happy in there for life.
Just drill air holes in the sides and top (obviously small enough so the snake cant escape! ![]()

Not a problem I've had with them,keeping various species in them too,from corns & kings,bull snakes,royals and younger boas and burms.I have found the RUB's to be invaluable in fact.
