Default western hognose morphs??

I have 3 western hoggys and was looking at them earlier and wondering if they were different 'morphs' or just a random colouration

Spud is a female and a mahogony red spot with a brown background

Maisy and Harry are khaki green spots with a very grey background.

Is there just lots of variation in colouring or are theyre diff 'morphs' which i hate to use

Also would this make much diff mating them together?

Apart from the natural variation in any species, and ignoring the albinos, leucistics etc, westerns are(unless things have changed since i last looked) split into dusty(gloydi), mexican(kennerlyi) and plains(nasicus)

though some are more common than others

to be honest, ive never bred westerns, there was a site that showed the difference in the three, try googling "western hognose subspecies"

I used to keep madagascan hognoses too, but they aren't so common now

Hognose Snakes

Take a nose at the above site to see some of the morphs being bred in the states.

Dusty's now are working towards being declassified as they're believed to be nothing more than a regional variation on the normal colourations. Like you I've got some with green on them others that are very dark redish brown and others that are very dark.
