Default My snake is wheezing- help!! im panicking

Ive just taken my ball python out and hes making like a wheezing noise, he hasnt got any discharge or anything coming from his nose or mouth he just sounds very wheezy and i am majorly panicking as ive only had him for like 2 weeks. he is in a 50l rub so with holes drilled in, a hide and a water bowl but im worried that there may not be enough ventilation? he hasnt pood since ive got him and i tried to feed him a large rat last week but he didnt take it. I everything from the owner so i presumed it was all ok

What do i do?

Is he coming into shed or has he recently shed and had he just had a drink when you heard the wheezing noise?

hot end its 31.6 and cold end its 27.9 and i dont think hes in shed im not sure his eyes arent cloudy or anything but as i said ive only had him 2 weeks and she didnt really give me a lot of info. hes very active at night etc.. so i think im just going to keep an eye on him or pop him into my local reptile store tomorrow as theyve been really helpful with these sorts of problems in the past, i feel like a really bad owner now hes only in the rub temporarily as im waiting for his viv to arrive any day x

Your temps are ok your probably just panicking about nothing.
If I was you I would just leave alone to settle in for a week only open the rub to change water and spot clean if needed then try feeding after that. If it dosent strike and take it when you offer just leave it in there overnight.

If the royal is very excited it may do this I think, if it is breathing fast etc it can sound like a wheeze. If u have only had it a coule of weeks it may well be still settling in and may be getting a little stressed. Are u handling the snake a lot? Has it eaten since you've ad it home? Temps seem fine so thats good..

...but if in any doubt, get professional advice. Remember, there are no stupid questions, just an owner that cares for their animal are you registered with a vet too?

thanks guys hes stopped doing it now so maybe your right i mean i have been taking him out every day cus thats what you want to do when you have a new pet!! so im just going to leave hiim alone now and just open the tub up when i have to change his water every day.

I tried feeding him last weekend but he wouldn't take it so i left it in there for a few hours and then took it out again so i may try again this weekend as he is quite squishy, does that mean hes underweight? and he hasnt pood since ive got him so he obvs hasnt eaten for a while.
