www.erac.org.uk

I'm a member as are a few other people here in Essex.

Costs £10 a year to join (which is v.reasonable IMO).

There are monthly talks on various subjects, the last talk was on monitor lizards (which I found v.interesting, one prior to that was on spiders.

There are lots of shows and events + talks we attend throughout the year also, and hold a breeders meeting once a year in September, it will be in Basildon (date not yet confirmed).

There's so much experience there between the members and always someone willing to help out if needs be. A very friendly group worth joining IMO.

Regards,

Matt

Best thing for you to do is attend a meeting of different clubs and see what one(s) you wish to join. Our next meeting is the A.G.M (annual general meeting where all the figures/direction of the club etc. is sorted out) so it's not going to be as fun the rest are. I'd say come down and join us for the April meeting personally and you'll get a good idea of what the club is about that way.

i am a member of one in norwich it is called eastern herpetological society it costs 10 pounds a year or 2 ponds every meeting for non members. i really enjoy it as its really good to talk to people who loves reptiles too and lives in your area, which helps as they no places where to and not to go and sometimes no people who are selling animals you might be looking for, as well as we sometimes get a call from the airport who have had taken animals from people and we get a call asking if any members would like these animals, the only bad thing is at the club i go to there is not many people who go there is only about 7 of us
