There's one of my little B.smithi juve having just taken down a cricket much larger than I'd have expected her to go for (took it out of the forceps). Very proud of her.

And though it's a B.smithi thread, I don't care. I want to show my B.auratum off too! :P

If I'm honest, I've never heard of anyone being bitten by a Red-knee, and my B.smithi and B.auratum are docile as they come. The auratum especially almost seems to enjoy being handled... If I take the lid off of her enclosure and put my hand at the top, she climbs up and onto my palm.
The B.smithi does similar, but then just sits in my hand. Very well behaved!

Neither are kickers either, which is good.

I've never been bitten by any of mine (touch on wood) though my girlfriend has (by an Avicularia sp.) and apparently it's not that bad, just two quick pin pricks and a slight ache for an hour or so. All of mine are as good as gold (except for when I moved my A.seemanni - read about it here). Even my Pterinochilus chordatus doesn't bite readily. She comes and watches me if I'm doing stuff in her enclosure, and if she doesn't like it or thinks I'm too close, she slaps my fingers with her legs before she even considers threat displaying. I guess I'm lucky when it comes to spiders :2thumbs:

They look interesting, but I'd be too scared to have one as a pet!

Here's my AF Alita - I named my band 'Alita's Curse' after her!

I've had her just over a year, she's shed once and is now about 5.3/4" legspan I reckon. She was my first and definitely holds the warmest place in my spidery heart! These were taken just after her moult.
