Went a Dor Beetle hunt at Dollar Glen today. I went at the end of September last year and there were literally millions swarming all over the place. Unfortunately this year I was only able to find 6 Guess I missed breeding season by a few weeks.

So I returned home with my 6 beetles and various other things that were in the leaf litter that I brought for them to live in including: a centipede, millipedes, slug, freaky worm, and lots of micro beasts!

Some pics, will have to try get some of the Dors in daylight to show off their beautiful colours!

I've been told its a Horsehair Worm, which I googled and it does look exactly the same.

Glad I took it out the tub as soon as I saw it:
