Aranea diadematus are by far my favourite of the native spiders, and this one's a stunner! That's some incredible photography! I'd love to get myself a DSLR, but I just don't have the funds, so for now I'm using a Kodak Easyshare compact, it does what I need it to
Jealous of these photos though, I'd love to be able to take ones like this!

They may bite, but it's not very painful and certainly not dangerous. When worrying about moving a spider, remember how many people die per year from dog bites - that's domestic dogs, now add on the amount of people hospitalised from dogs. The number you're looking at now is more than the number of people per year bitten by spiders - and by 'spiders', I mean every living creature in the Order Aranea, which is about 100,000 times more spiders than dogs
Hence I prefer spiders to dogs
