cheers for the nice replies. some are better than others and i agree that 5 is probably the nicest of the lot.

Any idea of the species? There was quite a lot of these around during October, more so than usual.

no clue what species they are. spiders arent my thing, i just like to watch and phot them and i seem to get loads in my garden. this year i found the one in the photos, wasp patterned spiders, a Steatoda bipunctata (rabbit hutch spider), and a huge grey leggy spider thats been living in my garden for a few years but died this year
