Default My T's and some other inverts :D

I finally had some spare time to do a proper photoshoot of all my spideys  and a couple of my other inverts as well. enjoy

My recently sexed P.irminia male, a colourful little chap.

and his mate who was none too pleased at my attempts to lure him out for a picture!

'George' my MM Avicularia sp. avicularia.

OBT sling (one of 3 that I got from Poxicator), the only one that posed nicely I should add

Avicularia sp. 'Peru Purple' sling

C. fimbriatus, due for a moult soon.

H. lividum sling

And a couple of my mantids:

Hierodula membranacea pair

Creobroter pictipennis female

Roaches!!
Dubia - well they're not that rare or anything but they support my collection of insect eaters so I really felt I should put them in

Also got some Giant Cave Roaches (Blaberus giganteus). I have 5 nymphs of these (used to be 6 but I lost one for no apparent reason), they look just like any other nymph at the moment so I didn't take a photo. Can't wait till they get to adult

I do like to feed them up when they're small, just to get them to a reasonable size (say 2in or so)

Thanks! I've not had the time to do proper pics for a while so having a few hours with loose fast spids and a camera was heaps of fun .
That Peru Purple sling is about to moult I think, it's gone almost black and a bit sluggish, so I'm keeping fingers crossed for some adult colours . I'll post an update when it finally does it.

Default Update

I've had some moults since the last post so I thought I'd post an update as promised

Both of my Avicularia 'Peru Purple' slings have moulted, and the biggest now has its adult colours!

The other one also moulted but still has dark booties, even though they are the same age, moult, and from the same sack. I guess the hard start in life really shows.

Chilobrachys fimbriatus juvie after a moult. It has some real attitude on it now, just dare to so much as touch its web and it pops out in a little threat pose!

A new acquisition: Brachypelma smithi. Still small but I already love the little thing . It is my first NW terrestrial tarantula.

Aaand,.. both my Giant Asian mantids have moulted into adults! The female is just amazing , check out those yellow, pink veined wings!

Here's the male, he moulted about a week ago.

A little size and colour comparison . The female obviously still needs to plump up a bit. I'm keeping the male in a cooler room so that he doesn't drop dead or anything just as she becomes ready to breed...

Hope you've enjoyed the pics!
