The spider in the first pic is a columbian giant not a pink toe and someone may correct me but the pink toed tarantula is not classed as a Goliath. Your one actually looks like a martinique pink toed tarantula

Dammit. Whatever happened to artistic license?????

You had to go and ruin the poetry!

FYI, the Avic was sold to me as A braunshaunseni. It is already BIGGER than my A versicolor, which is fully adult.

Thats because tarantulas are not classed by common names.
Common names are generic terms that can be used to describe any number of different T's, therefore they can't be 'corrected' as such. They are a hinderence to the hobby and should be avoided.

And the 'pink toe' looks nothing like an A. versicolor ('Martinique pink toe).

The first one is a Megaphobema robustum (Colombian giant)

neither goliath nor a pink toe, but beautiful spiders regardless

About 4 - 4.5'' leg span.

It fills that green lid now, which is off a koi food jar.

Yeah, no worries Mate.

I was just trying to start a light hearted thread and have a laugh.

I mean.......I call the Columbian Bob the builder cos it moves dirt like a guy on a fork truck.

I will now probably get a load of people posting telling me.........a) The spider is not a male and b) Bob the builder doesn't own a fork truck.

It doesn't really matter as long as the spider knows what and who it is!!!!
