Unhappy Help Ive Really Screwed Up

Hi looking for help as i am absolutley gutted - bought my first spider and got delivery yesterday - a small spiderling ( mexican red knee) put it into a small plastic pot with mix of peat and vermicule for bedding with its film pot for comfort. This afternoon its nowhere to be seen and i have noticed a couple of small holes just under the rim ( which i would have thought too small for the spider to get out) i am now of the belief i have fekked up completley as i cannot see him in the tub at all , raked through carefully with chopstick to see if burried. Nothing !!! i am a responsible owner (ordinarily) and have lizards and other insects etc. My other half is going mad as there is a tarantula on the loose.

Any advice and can he live without being looked after by me ????

Help please

One devestated Simon

Look all around where the tub was. Look in dark, warm places. Is he only tiny?

Awww.. Well i doubt he'd go far and would look for a place thats dark and warm. Being a smithi it will be low down. Keep searching. Your best bet is to look at night.

Unless he is in the tub still, then the chances of it surviving are slim.

If he was really tiny (as in 2mmish) then you should have kept him in the film tub. I have some that are months old and still in one. It will be really hard to find such a small T if he has got out. If he has got out he will most prob stay close to the tub, so look around there.

Don't give up. My sis' friend lost a sling in the same room as his dog, and had given up on it. He went in room a day or 2 later and it was on the ceiling.

Don't know about it living without you, but I doubt it, especially at that size. Plus, it might not be warm enough.

I would double check your sling pot again... and look out for the little fella in case he is on the floor, hope you find him.
