I only know that they are one of the most dangerous scorps on earth. DWA. I saw some fairly recently in Creature Feature, Harrogate.

They are Leiurus quinquestriatus also known as the five keeled gold scorpion. Deathstalker is such a crap name IMO! They are, drop for drop, the most venomous scorpion in the world, however, in 97% of all recorded cases of envenomation by this scorp' it has produced only localised effects.

I don't see the fascination in keeping a scorpion in your house that could kill you .......

Same as people keeping venmous snakes except a whole lot less risks.

I can see wot you mean, but maybe the fascination with a given specie comes down to behaviour or something other than toxicity. What if the lovely ol' Pampho genus was significantly more toxic and you could afford a DWAL, would you get one for being able to get pamphos? hehe.
I think youd get a license:P
Also thinking Pokies, theyr considered one of the more toxic family of tarnatulas, people still keep them, i would hope the majority of people do for the stunning looks rather than the venom capabilities.

You keep spiders in your house that could possibly kill you, Poeceletheria have a potent enough bite to put someone with an allergy into a coma

It's like saying, I don't see your fascination with avics (I do but ), you like the look of them etc, I don't think many 'real' keepers will own an animal purely because it has potentially lethal venom, they will own it because the animal itself appeals to them
