Default Moths for idolomantis

thought id start a new thread since we hijacked another talking about this i have 3 L2/3 idolos and would love to hear any body's experiences and tips of getting bigger flying food for them

i was thinking if either buying some moths ive seen on eBay or trying to build some kind of moth trapper thing.........but still culturing curly winged fly's as a fall back...... in case i cant get enough wild moths

Buy maggots from a fishing shop and keep them in fridge til u need them then get them out so they turn into blue bottles?

I havent got experience with "idolos" if they only take flying insects then how about wax moths or hatch some fishing maggots. Ive been using small lobster roaches as these will climb the sides unlike dubias which will only stay on the bottom.

Lesser waxmoths - Smaller and have a shorter lifecycle than the greater waxmoth normally sold (standard waxworms)


Lesser Waxworm / Waxmoth Starter Culture (livefood) on eBay, also, Reptiles, Pet Supplies, Home Garden (end time 08-Apr-08 20:17:51 BST)

i want to buy moths that are ready to hatch..i dont want to buy worms.

i use green and blue bottle flys

You can feed Bumble Bees that you can find in your garden to your Idolos solong as they're big enough. I've seen them recently about. They're a great source of food because of all the pollen and stuff that they've picked up.

i use pollen powder..sprinkle it on my flys before i feed them to the mantids.

i saw some guy selling them in ebay.there al gone now tho..i rember seeing a thread on mantid forum where some guy sent him a big carboad sheet of coocons..thats what i want.
