Looks like a Carabus sp. (intricatus?) to me... Let me know if you find out precisely!

Cheers,

Actually you are half right and half wrong. Under the common name Tiger Beetle, hobbyists usually speak about the subfamily Cicindelinae. I am pretty sure that what we have here is a member of the subfamily Carabinae. However, both belong to the family Carabidae...

and for Cam, here are some taxonomic keys with pics... in French.

Entomoland - Carabus intricatus - Fiche détaillée

could be a Carabus violaceus as well.

Cheers

Thanks once more, your a true foutain of knowledge!
if i could speak french or access a translator on web id understand that link, hehe
well, it looks like the one by the pics, but all three specimens iv seen havent been so vivid in colour. The irridescence is present around the edges of the plates more so than total coverage.
Well, il have a look and see if i have any info in any of my books, lol

awesome thing though.
il let you know if i find snything out

The head plate looks a different shape though, tese are more pronounced than the C intricatus atleast
