Default dead or moulting?

Right, we thought our female Goliath was dead, but we just realised that she may be moulting instead. We're not used to stick insects and need a bit of advice.
She appears to be anchored to a branch with one front leg. She is quite heavy so her back end is on the floor of her enclosure, and she does not appear to be moving at all. She appeared fine yesterday and this morning but, looking at the paper towel (which was changed yesterday) she has not poo'd or laid any eggs since it was changed. She usually does this almost continually.
Is it possible that she is moulting, and if so how long should it take?

Why is it on paper towl?

If its on its back its moulting but dont disturb it.

Sorry, I didnt specify - its a Goliath stick insect, not a spider. Thats why its on paper towel, and hanging from a branch.
