Any ideas why emp scorpion died?!?!?

iv had an emporer scorpion for about 2 months and for some reason it died yes2day, for the past week or so its been acting very slugish and sleeping in its water bowl, dont think the temporature was too high 20 degrees c, if anything was too cold, recently though a lot of my crikets have been dying maybe the food is comtanimated, it was an old scorpion but i have 2 young redclaws, and do not want the same to happen to them, please help..

To be honest, maybe it was just it's time? The *Vast* amount of emp's being sold are wild caught adults. It could have been a good 7/8 years old before you got it.

If it was well fed, had moisture, was kept at or above room temp, then chances are it was nothing you did wrong buddy.

it was such a shame as all the new gear for it was coming tomorrow, spent like 200 quid on new vivs and thermostats ect, wel at least it had long life thanks

Either just its "time", which is likely. Or the temps are too low. 20C was the highest temp in the viv? I doubt it could digest and things properly at those temps

sorry to hear bout that, my emp died unexpectedly couple of months ago too, i figured she was at least 5 years old so it was her "time".

and sorry but your emp might have not died of old age becos 20C is too cold. emps like it about 25C - 30C!

20c is right mine live in my snake room and to be fair its only 18c and there fine eating well and everything. they are very slow growers meaning if its was full grown it would of been like 3-4 already so id say just tome to make shore don't use the same crickets buy a new pack. zach
