Unhappy Maggots in with my B.Emilia sling

Hey guys,

Iv just done my nightly check on my collection and found 2 maggots in with my B.emilia sling, shes about 10mm across including less, just incase your wondering. they look like normal house fly maggots, their almost the same size as my emilia. This isn't my fault, its the shops i just got her from, so no grief plz. Should I be worried? Shes now in a new home and the old one been binned.

I would check her over and remove anything suspicious with a paintbrush. Tbh the chances are shes absolutely fine lols. Just make sure u have changed the substrate etc.

They could of been in the peat then as the peat has been untreated. This is the reason i tend to use eco earth coco fibre.

I have found them in eco earth too. Its the reason all substrate needs to be baked. Peat is a breeding ground for mold and fungus as well though so best not to use it.

Never ever had a problem with anything in my eco earth. I doubt a house fly at this time of the year would of laid them tho.
