Default T Venom..

*Hand up*

Does it get more potent as the T goes from spiderling, to juvenille, to sub, to adult, or does it remain about the same, all the way?

I would imagine it gets stronger.

Right?

Do the males and females of a species have the precise same strength of venom?

Thanks

As far as I know the venom stays the same , but the amount that an adult can inject is obviously more .

Ah, right.

A larger quantity, right?

Not stronger.

Yet, in relation to size, probably figures out the same.

I have only had one or two juvenille/slings, and I find them more interesting, active, and better feeders than the actual adults, in my experience.

now this is a good question, and hopefully a good discussion. It would be great to know more about the venom of tarantula as many ppl can be rather dismissive of it, even on species that have only been described for a handful of years.
I've read, and chatted with ppl that have had bites from juv's and the pain experienced has suggested the young ones are not to be messed with.

Definitely not, I would say.

The only advantage you would have would be the smaller fangs, I suppose.

Yeah , I prefer my slings to the more adult T's . The adults may be better looking but I love how much the sling's/juves eat and grow . I'm sure my Psalmopoeus's have a canister of compressed gas that they use to inflate themselves with when they shed , as is seems like for the first few times they shed they literally double in size .

What do you class to be a sling, juvenille, etc?

How many stages until adulthood, on average?

Its a bit of an open question this, and one that rarely gets properly answered.
My own thoughts, which may be totally inaccurate are as follows:
6-8 instar is the transition from sling to juvenile
maturity is reached when the tarantula is moulting about once a year.
This is a general guides as different species mature at different times. But males tend to mature between 18-24 months whereas females are about another 12 months after that.
