it was my own fault..i had it housed in the same cage as a adult female shield mantis. Not a good move!the shield mantis was so fat she was refusing her food..while i was sorting out another tank for the male peaock i put him in the 2ftx1ft cage for a few hours knowing that the shield mantis was rejecting food where she was so fat..any way this was a stupid thing to do..i sort his tank out and go back to find the sheild mantis eating it lesson learned!

Such a shame, it maybe a school boy error but dont be too hard on your self Scott, mantids can be like that Iv had a P.Pardoxa sub adult not eat for ages so assumed she was about to shed, I keep my P.Paradoxa together and have never had any problems although I keep an eye on them so I know which have eaten and when (luckily they are all slightly different colours) Then couple of days ago put enough crickets in for 1 each and she ate two off the trot eventhough she had plenty of opportunity to eat the day before when I put her in a tank on her own for 24 hours just incase the others were somehow putting her off eating. I mean whats the crack there? Atleast you still have some great pics.
