I for one would like to see more true spiders in the trade.
That is to take nothing away from T's, but it is true to say that the diversity of the true spider, in colour and behaviour is every bit as diverse, maybe more so? It is also fair to say that for those who think size counts *cough* then there are some pretty big true spiders. The huntsman is one example, I think that gets pretty large, and I am sure there must be others. Their methods of catching pray are also diverse, huntsman will track their pray down, a fishing spider, well, I am led to believe that is quite interesting. Most can live in fairly easy to replicate conditions, and are inexpensive by comparison to many T's. I think there would be a demand for them, if they were marketed well, and awareness raised. Anyone second that perspective? |

While I cannot keep any spiders (unless I want to be single again) I wholeheartedly agree Araneomorph spiders should be better represented.
There are many species now available fairly readily such as various Nephila and Argiope with some huntsmans and rarely large jumping spiders GIVE US MORE!! |

There are a few on the market, but not many. the one I have ALWAYS wanted is the Madagacan silk spider. they make HUGE webs, sometimes reaching 6ft! They can just live in the corner of a room. My wife would leave me the minute I got one though
