Default Emp doesn't seem to want to eat..

Right I've had my Emperor scorpion about three weeks now. It has been moved into a way different tank in the middle of that time so maybe it's just settling in but It hasn't eaten during those three weeks...

I've offered crickets but it ignores them or gets defensive, i bought smaller ones that are easily manageable but the same reaction. It's an adult btw.

It's usually pretty active although in the last few days all i see are it's claws peeking out of its hide on the heatmat side. It seems to like to stay against the glass with the heatmat attached i guess because it's the warmer side.

I did lift off it's hide as I was worried I hadn't seen it move for three days(unless it did when i was asleep). It was really active then lol doing the whole Ibex style horn clash, like it would rear up on its back four legs and kinda smash down with its two claws slamming into the ruler i was using in place of my finger luckily.

The temps range from 23 to around 29c according to the digital thermometer, the sensor is nearer the warm end then the middle but not touching the glass with the heatmat.

I mist every day and it has a decent sized waterbowl(like the size of it but shallow) which i make sure is full.

Any ideas?

P.imperator's have extremely slow metabolisms and therefore dont always eat lol
think of them as the scorp equivalent of G.rosea.
They may decide not to eat at all for upto a year if food isnt taken just remove wait a week then try again, but seriously dont worry mate

Nothing to worry about at all. I seen them go almost a year with no food. Also, slow down on the misting. two or three times a week is plenty

alright thanks a lot. I guess i'll keep offering but what's annoying is after a few hours I lose track of the crickets as they either burrow or go into one of the scorpions hides, one is quite large(a rock cave i made for it which it spends its time in) so a cricket could happily live in there with a not bothered Emp!

I seriously need more T's and such as my crix go to waste lol.
