Default Need a few native bugs ID'd, a predatory beetle, a wolf spider and another spider

Just found all these while out having a fag in the garden , the rain must have disturbed them. I would like to keep them to watch for a few days before releasing them so if anyone could give me an ID on them i would be greatful.

That second spider looks like an Amaurobius similis, I found loads last week when emptying a compost bin.

I agree on number 2, there's posts everywhere about these right now! There must have been a nationwide population explosion of these guys.

I've got a beetles book, i'll have a quick look through and see if I can find anything that looks similar. how big is it?

an inch maybe, i think its one of the carabid beetles, or ground beetle.

I can't find that exact one but I guess with more than 4000 species of beetle in the UK alone, it's not surprising

The ground beetle looks like a Pterostichus species. I've got loads of them in my garden, that look just like yours. I once caught 26 in one night in a pitfall trap.

the top one does not look like a wolf spider,.look at this wolf spiders eyes..totaly different to the one u posted
