Default Worried about B.Albopilosa sling

Just unpacked her and she's not moving. The N.Chromatus that was posted with her however is 100% active.

It's been about 20 mins and she's just still. The damp tissue paper that she was wrapped in was very cold so could it be she's just been in a daze? When opening the towl she was laying on her side so I put her upright then placed her into the spider pot in the position which she has remained.

The N.Chromatus has already vanished into the coir, so very pleased with that one. I just don't want to contact the S.shop too early if she actualy isn't D.O.A, if she were would she not be in the 'death curl' position?

just clinging onto any hope really that there might be any explanation other than a victom of the reaper. Does anybody have any ideas if there might be another explanation?

Could just be cold, leave it in a warm room for ha lf an hour and see maybe?

Though you might not want it to warm up too fast t o avoid temperature shock, I don’t know about that though.

They do need wet tissue in summer, probably more so than in winter! For moisture to drink if they get too hot..

I'd leave her somewhere really warm for a bit and see if there's any life

my brazillian black came in wet tissue today, he seem's fine. Weather up in newcastle aint too good at the moment but the T is fine

By the way OP i would try nudging it (Not hard) just a lil. if it moves its alive if not then it's probably dead. leave it for a day to be safe but you should contact the spider shop ASAP to let tem know how it goes.

Try slowly warming it up over the day and see how it goes, i had one that arrived like this and after about 6 hours it perked up.

Tarantula are adept at dealing with fluctuating temperatures so no need to worry.
They'll quite often go into a dormant state if too cold.
Get it into a warmer environment and leave it for the evening. I wouldnt get in touch with thespidershop yet, you have this to refer to if you have any issues with Lee which I doubt you will. Check it in the morning, there's little else you can do tbh.

Thank you everyone

well here she is....she's not got her legs curled as such but the one side they seem to be stuck up in the air where as the other side is normal standing pose.

and placed on her back

I've put her in the airing cupboard upstairs it's the warmest place but not OTT, so I'll see how she goes, unless from the pics you think she's gone already? It's worth a try I suppose, if there's no movement by the morning I'll have to speak to the S.Shop. it's not their fault, I suppose these things happen, just sad when it does.

Ok, well she's been in the warm for a few hours now and no change at all, infact she looks more gone now. There's no life at all when I handle her so had to call it a day really, although I said I'd wait till the morning, looking at the situation now I think it's a bit fruitless. Oh well. Good news is I explained this to Lee and he's sorted it for me, first class company

and of course the other thing to smile about is the little N.chromatus, she's doing great
