Angry Worst 2 Days of My Life!!

So, i've been a bit ill and a bit miserable so i decide to go a bit payday mad and bought myself 5 T's, one of which being my OH's first ever T. Now everything was due to arrive from varying sources yesterday and today bar one which im getting next week. So yesterday morning we're waiting by the door for the postman and we get a big box from the Spider Shop. My OH is practically weeing himself about his spider which should be in the box....we open it and ...No spider, just the two tubs we ordered along with her. We think, okay maybe she'll come with the later post as well as the A. geniculata I was expecting. 1pm comes sand no spiders so I phone the post office with the tracking number and email TSS. The post office woman (who was very rude >=( ) said that the spider had been sent to Coventry by mistake!!! So I have to drive to bloody coventry even though I'vee been, and still am, pretty darn ill, to pick up this bloody spider. When i open it up and have a look i think ", she's going into death curl, she;s been sent in something about 3 times her size with almost no padding and has a scabby/mouldy-looking patch on her abdomen. Great."

Get it home, blow gently on her to see if she responds...nothing...poke her bum with a paintbrush...nothing...poke her again to make sure? She shoots forward and spreads out, resulting in my sh*****g my pants! Get her into her tank and on the way she gives me a face full of urticating hairs. Nice.

Check emails and voila, a reply from the Spider Shop saying they forgot to send out the spider and I now have to wait til Friday, which would be fine but i have to go back to stoke today for a Dr's appointment so i'll have to come BACK again to go back and drop the OH off! (I'll just point out that i want to spend the night with him coz i wont see him for ages, because he;s whining that i'm making him sound like a bastard)

So, this morning, I'm due an OBT and a B. smithi. Smithi arrives fine, brilliantly packed, open the tub annnd.....She's on her back >.< she's still alive so i put the pot she's in inside her faunarium and crank the humidity up. Still no moult

So, no word on the OBT, a mouldy A. geniculata and a bloody awkward Smithi! STILL waiting on the E. truculentus and i'm about to kill someone. (Not the OH, he called first dibs on not being beaten to death with
a rake.)

so

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

Someone tell me I've done the right thing with the smithi please? ta

Sound's like you done the right thing with the smithi, i doubt it's mould on the Geniculata it could be a scabby bald patch, just give her a waterdish as she may be dehydrated, other than that, it'll just be because she's flicking hairs.

Spidershop like anyone else do make mistakes so hopefully it gets sorted.
Hopeeverything goes well!!

Get well soon. x

I can't help with the T's but it's so frutrating!

I would complain to the spider shop was it? Again and again until they offer some sort of discount or another spider. Although, i doubt it will be any better, as it will probabl be packed the same.

Hope they're ok

I suppose there is always a chance spiders have some kind of parasite or infection? I was under the impression some spiders(more often slings) were bought from breeders but adults are often WC.

the A. genic probably flicked itself bald in the post hun, they're quite irritable spiders at the best of times. They tend to look a a bit mouldy and scabby if they're near a moult, too. I would be tempted to give the seller a bollocking though, how hard is it to pack a spider properly FFS. It's not as if we haven't had enough threads about just that recently.

You've done the right thing with the smithi, if it's quite big it will take a while to moult so don't panic.

Spidershop's packing is always top notch, shame Lee forgot to put your spider in but you can be sure if there's anything wrong with it when it does come, he will replace it.

Hope you soon feel better hun and your other 2 arrive in good condition

I remember you telling me at the time when you inhaled... I still laugh about that to this day.
