Default B. Smithi barricading hide entrance and digging.

It seems my B Smithi has barricaded the entrance to his/her hide, and has dug a hole underneath the substrate. it goes right down to the bottom of the tank. At first i unblocked the hide, to see what was going on, then noticed the hole. Is this a sign of an approaching molt? Or temperature/humidty problems?

Thanks, Jamie.

P.S. If you need a picture, i can easily take one =P

Yes it is very likely the sign of an impending moult. You may not see it again for some time.

Ahhh i see, thanks.
Will my T unbarricade the entrance when he/she has molted?
and another question, can feeding Tarantulas more often increase the ammount of time until another molt occurs?

After the moult, it will come out again in it's own time so don't worry. Try not to disturb it. If you feed more, or power feed, the time between moults will decrease as it will get bigger quicker! However, thats not really a responsible route.
