Ah!
Well you see... Dad told me today that he's gone and moved Boris ( yes, I know, awful name ) his chilean rose, into the 30x30x30 exo that he bought recently... so that means we have an empty large faunarium with a heat mat currently unuccopied. Therefore, I'm going to see if I can persuade him to see if I can use it as an incubator for a spiderling sling, stored inside it in a seperate vase, which I'd then move into a larger enclosure in the future. What size of an enclosure would be best for an adult, a 45x45x45 ? ![]() |

About that, yes, but you'll need to pile in the substrate to lower the distance between floor and lid in case s/he climbs. As adults, they're very fragile and succeptible to falls.
If it's an ExoTerra, turn it around so the doors are on the back, put the backing in front of the doors and fill through the top. General rule (for terrestrial tarantulas) is that length and bredth of the tank should be at least twice the tarantulas legspan, but anything more than 3x is considered wasted space. For height, 1.5x the legspan is optimal, but 2x isn't -too- risky unless you have loads of hard, solid cage decorations too. |

They grow pretty fast. We have what we think is a female and i got her as a 0.5cm sling and shes now 3.5 inches in a year. Iv also found that B.albopilosums grow pretty fast we have had a female mature in 13 months.
