Nom Nom little segmentata

This little Orb Weaver (I'd say it is a Metellina segmentata) is living on my patio .. she sits there looking gorgeous especially when it rains

Last night I thought I chuck in a roach and make a few snaps, enjoy

And hardened up munching









So cool how they drag the pray to their hide







She certainly looks happy

I fed our house spider a mealworm last night (white one) & a small cricket today.

Gary is still outside - in the rain atm!

Bloody hell I haven't seen this one for over a week now and I now know why .. she is AT LEAST double its size

Pictures below don't really show the size difference between the ones in the first post and now .. What I can tell you is that the roach fed in the first post, was 2nd instar (maybe 3rd)... This one is an ADULT roach .. so imagine the size (don't have a 2quid coin for comparison to hand).

Also below, a picture of the size of the web - amazing ... what you cannot see is the amount of anchor points she did ... they are all over the patio lol - that really is a huge one now





Here she looks like she isn't quite harden up yet
