Default Quick snail question

Gave my GALS a full clean out today and while I was bathing the snails I noticed one of them has spilt part of the new shell growing around the edge.

It's a very clean split and goes about 1cm around the bottom of the shell. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems and the snail is moving without any difficulty. Will this just come off eventually and grow back? Never had this problem before.

Thanks in advance.

me and my gf have had over 400 snails between us, (tried breeding, not proiftable)

we have seen many splits, cracks ect. the one you described doesnt seem that bad, just make sure there is plenty of calcium available (cuttlefish bone works wonders) and just keep an eye on it.

we have had a snail with a hole in its shell around 2cm diameter, covered it with a normal plaster as it was almost trying to come out fo the hole instead and within 3 weeks was healed and back to normal

so basically as long as calcium is provided it should heal up and encourage more new shell growth

hope ive helped

Cheers

Yeah it doesn't look too bad at all. And has access to cuttlefish that they all like to munch on quite a bit. Will keep an eye on it.
