Default House spider indentication

Firstly I was wondering if anybody knew what this was?

Secondly, does anyone know of any common house spiders that bite? Something, fluff knows what, got me 2 weeks ago - left two little marks close together and it stung like a burn for around 9 days. Nothing serious, obviously - but just got me curious.

Tah in advance.

...are you in the UK? Seems a tad colourful for a native house spider species...

...hmm weird, never seen one that colourful..

I'll see if I can find anything, though tomorrow more knowledgeable people will probably figure it out.

One thing I can say, is a burning pain for 9 days sounds very unusual...the native house spiders shouldn't leave any feeling of pain bar the nip of the bite.

FOUND IT!

it's a Triangulate Cobweb spider

Triangulate Cobweb Spider - Google Images

they look like a match to me...

"Other, larger members of the Steatoda genus do have medically significant bites, but there are no recorded bites or envenomations by this spider."

so sounds like one of those wont have bitten you.

A know false widows bites can hurt a bit and their native...though i didn't think for 9 days...

It's a male Steatoda grossa by the looks of things.

As for colourful species? How biased! We have beautiful native species:

Micrommata virescens

Not to mention all the green/white Thomisids and some of the amazing Linyphidids.

meh maybe it's the light or googles example photos. It's just his photo had it rather strikingly reddish brown and having a yellow colour on the abdomen, when I google triangulate I get that, but grossa seems more browny.

His? ;_;

And it does look more like the Steatoda grossa, me thinks.
Thanks all.

EDIT:

Ungh, realised I put indentication in the title?! *Identification.
Well it was late, that's my excuse.
