Talking Millipedes???

Well if my mum keeps her word i may be getting a millipede later next year so i have started doing a bit of research on them and i was just wondering why there is such a gap for the life span, most sites are saying 1-10yrs, is this just because its an average of all types of millipedes?

I was also wondering is there any type of millipede that is sugguested for a begginer or any particualr ones i should aviod?

Thanks these are the first of many questions!

Unsure on time span.

But if you want a generally big milli, easy to rear and pretty tolerant of handling a Chocolate or African Train is a good idea. ANy more Qs just give me a PM.

I think one problem is not that many people have CB ones and so if you buy a large WC adult it could die in 6 months, or last you 6 years, since you don't know how old it is. Thus people will make guesses as to their expected lifespan. The best way to figure it out would be to raise a little CB baby and see how long it lives, how long it takes to get to adult size(9-12") etc.

Tbh, I'm not too sure on there life span, but I used to have a 'african black train millipede' and I barely had it for a year before it died last year, it was a captive bred '06.
