Ive had this problem (got it now actually haha) watered down honey peps them up if they have a really skinny abdomen, if its abdomen is quite plump it should hold out long enough if you feed it a bit of honey , My Idolo went about three weeks without food before it died.
got any pics of it?

EDIT: your best bet is to either find someone who can loan you a culture that you can meet in person (that is if the post is still a bit buggered) or if you can order a new one via another company other than royal mail , I'd send you some if I had a culture going , sorry!

Anyone near you breed locusts? If you can get some tiny, just hatched, ( black in colour ) Locusts they are possibly small enough, I am guessing that by the time they are coloured and sold as smalls in the shop, they are too big.

Were you nearer I could have harvested some for you.

What instar is it? Leave a torch out in the garden for a bit and you should get a few moths that are still straggling about.

believe me ive tried that recently , I used to leave my desklamp facing my window and I's get those massive ones that you can actually hear smacking the glass - I havent seen a moth in about two months.

I can only catch bluebottles if it's a dry day now with catfood traps

Lol, we've had loads of small ones here in the past week. None of the massive ones though.

Did you sell your Idolo's in the end?

nah I cheered up a bit , Im determined to get this one to adult, just going to focus on that and peacock breeding ,as youve seen people are interested before the ooths have even been laid

you're lucky you get moths , must be a lot colder up here, need to hit the baitshop tomorrow

I was lucky with mine, i'd recently left a box of waxworms in the bugroom which had pupated into moths, so that was a lucky escape!

But i also breed roaches which go down a treat (the nymphs) and have even had a couple take waxworms off me

Failing that, just go down a fishing shop and buy some squats!
