crickets + moulting spiders = very bad news

I'm trying to get an adult brown out of my new OBT's enclosure but the webbing and cork bark ive put in is making it all but impossible to catch the bugger. Had the OBT a week now and it hasn't been interested in this cricket at all, thus I think it's probably going to moult very soon, I'm going to keep trying till I go to bed, if I haven't got it then tomorrow I'll have to take it's enclosure off the shelf, get one of my storage boxes and put the enclosure in that, then tear up the poor OBT's web to get this darned cricket! I wish she'd at least strike at it and kill it and just not eat it.

ye i had to do it to my P. cambridgei it moulted and i didn't realize lucky i wanted to watch her eat and not just chuck the crick in and leave, i saw the T seems pretty transparent and larger than i recall and found it odd the cricket ran straight up to the t so after a little investigation and searching in hide i saw the skin at the bottom and decided to pick up the cork bark and pretty much detaching the webbing and burrow from the enclosure got the cricket out (and moult ) before it decided to feast on the T

YES! Got the bugger! My AF C.cyaneopubescenes was more then happy to deal with the cricket...in fact she threw herself against the glass as I was trying to get the thongs with the cricket struggling on the end into the enclosure. Someone's a hungry girl.

I have a G. Rosea sling who never eats its cricket when you put them in, but does eventually. I worry about this happening to him and therefore feed him small brown cricket only, but it could still happen.

Dont count on that, depends on the sp of roach. i lost a 7" Scolopendra heros (centipede) during a moult to a uneaten Orange headed Cockroach (Eublaberus posticus) it ate right through it.

I've had cases where the spider has not given me any sign of moulting (like my giant white knee) and I'm like SHIT get the cricket out!!! and I have done luckily before any harm has been done...

OMG...I dont know much about T's, I certainly didnt know crickets could cause such horrific damage to one.

Im really really sorry for your loss, in such a horrible manner.

yes, but locusts have their own unique set of disadvantages - they're harder to keep alive than crix and their nutritional value is lower.
