Default Sending T's Through post. Advice & Comments

Hi guys. I'm sending a couple of juvi pokies via royal mail tomorrow and i was just wondering on tips for packing etc. Its my first trade so obviously wanna get it right. I might of gone a bit OTT but any feedback and suggestions would be great.

I'm gonna run through it bit by bit so please bear with me.

I've gotta old exo cube box cut down to size

Inside i've lined it with polysyrine

I've cut an insert at the bottom for a heat pack

Then when packed, pad out with newspaper and poly bits.

And put the lid back on

Do i send them in their current homes, which has substrate and cork in

Or do i send them in empty cricket tubs lined with kitchen towel or something

Sorry its soo long winded but just wanna make sure its done properly

hey, usually for transporting, i use a cricket tub like that but put a nice bit of kithen towel in there an dput the T in on top, then secure with a bit of sticky tape, this stops the T getting shaken about and you can moisten part of the tissue to give it a bit of moisture. i then put that in a cardboard box with a heat pack like the one you have and stuff newspaper around the cricket tub to secure it in there then just wrap the box with fragile handle with care tape and send via rmsd, so far, touch wood i have never had any problems, hope this helps

From what I've seen/read, when transporting Ts there should be practically no room for them to move around. I know some people use straws for slings and kitchen roll tubes for the larger Ts.

I don't really know much about transporting, but I definitely wouldn't transport them in their current housing :P

Depending on the size, toilet/kitchen roll tubes are ideal for sending pokies:

I would NOT like to get my big Pokie in a tube like that. The fury!

A tube or similar is probably the best bet for a pokie though, just let it crawl in and bung the end. I think padding out with kitchen roll in a box works best for slower spiders.

mine was in a film pot with cotton wool on the bottom, then the spid, then more cotton wool on top, he was in the middle snug as a... spider

this is with the top bit of cotton wool removed

then bubble wrap then the box
