i also saw a box of fruit beetle grubs(as livefood)

but i seen them and thought to myself if i reared them what kind of fruit beetle would i end up with and what size would it be?

These grubs are Pachnoda marginata, which as adults are between 1cm and 2.5cm, but seeing as the grubs sold as food are not fed properly and are inbred, they will produce tiny adults, and often will not even pupate due to how physically exhausted they are.

If you want a nice simple jump into the world of beetles, try healthily cultured species as pets like Smaragdesthes, Protaetia, Eudicella and other species of Pachnoda. I can imagine that starting with food-bred larvae could be pretty demoralising.

I started with the live food grubs(Pachnoda sp.). They tend to breed ok after a while. Pretty little fellas. Best of luck. They are useful if you have any breeding small mammals, good protien for mums.
