To be honest, as long as it is eating then it should be fine. I mean, if its eating then it means that it is not having any problems finding the food in a big enclosure.
Although, I'm quite new to Avic keeping myself but I've always been led to believe that a happy Avic will make it's home and stay there. I've always gone with a general rule that you won't often see a happy/well-kept Avic or burrowing T. I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me will be along soon to comment further tho mate...

For a T that size a tank that big is way too big (presuming you mean inches), and I'm an fan of giving T's bigger tanks.
Something for that size would probably be a sweet jar (like the ones you see in shops holding all the sweets you have to by in weights. I'm sure you know what I mean :P). Or, if you want something a little smaller again, Asda have a plastic coffee/sugar canister on sale for £1. I have some arboreal slings in those, and they are about 1.5" too.

Avic slings do tend to do better in bigger set ups than other T's of the same size. Although this does sound a little bit on the large size. Best person to ask would be Elaine. Might be worth dropping her a PM on this.

I'd say a tank that big is wasted on an adult Avic let alone a sling/juve but if it's eating etc you might as well leave it unless you've got something else you want to put in there .

Far too big, and if its an Exo not very good for raising humidity unless you alter it.
Sweet jar or smaller tub as has been suggested.

Plastic is better for making airholes in for ventilation

Exot -terra is fine for size but I would add stacks of furnishings like branches, plants, corkbark etc. The only downside to the exo is the humidity. They are totally useless for holding moisture in. Cover most of the top ventilation and spray 2 - 3 times a week.
A smaller enclosure of approx 12 x 8 x 6 ish would do nicely until your Avic is a large juvenile. Rehousing them too often can be really upsetting for Avics so larger enclosures are best for them to grow and hunt. For that reason alone I would leave it where it is. Has it moulted recently or will it be due to moult soon? If in premoult that could explain the lack of movement. Lack of humidity in the exo could prolong the moulting process. Hope all that makes sense cos my head just isnt quite with it just now lol.

![]() I was going to chime in, but Elaine has covered what I was going to say and more. Cover the exo mesh and you should see things improve. They are really hard to maintain humidity in but the bonus is that airflow can be easily improved over glass or plastic containers without mesh lids. |
