these (if the seller was right) are known as Euathlas sp "Blue femur" at the moment.

from what i remember being told, whatever pulcherrimaklaasi is, it's not that.

those spiders COULD be them, or they could be Euathlas sp "Green Femur", or even "Aphonopelma" aberrans (to be reclassified as Euathlas one day).

the fact they were sold as blue femurs obviously lends itself to the first choice.
these spiders are a pain though, you have to look at them in bright light, with their legs NOT all huddled, to see it. AND They're skittish!

if they're purplish or blue, just go with the blue femur classification for now (i had one that was purple, not blue!). if green, obvious, if black, and the overall spider is chestnutty in colour with reddish setae, it'll possibly be A. aberrans.

definitely a difficult group to ID from pictures! while there's some doubt, might not be good to breed them, but if you're reasonably sure they're both "blue femurs", go for it.

oh i wouldn't be embarassed...seriously. you saw them, you wanted them, you bought them. you're doing research now, and being spiders, it's reasonable to assume they will not die from a few days of slightly incorrect care :p

if these are any of the 3 species i've suggested, they will like it cool and dry. aberrans in particular is montane, and is found alive and active under snow! not sure about the other two, but blue femur is from a place called Pichangui, so you can google that region for weather conditions, i'd expect.

however, i have been told that Euathlas sp Green and Blue can be hard to keep alive, so don't feel bad...it's worth tweaking environmental factors if you have any problems, but you can only do your best.

Must admit I'm rather confused by the ID for these but I don't think they come from the same region as A. aberrans which is a high altitude specimen.
Pichangui is an island off Chile(?) and the Euathlus sp Blue that is found there is actually found on and around the beach! The Euathlus sp Blue I have doesn't look like the one that used to be on the spidershop website, and yet that's where it was purchased. It seems whenever pix of these are posted the colouration differs.

Care should be similar to that of G. rosea, fairly dry and perhaps introduce some play sand into the substrate. Give the male the opportunity to hide and moult and get a pic of him looking fresh.
