nice trapdoor, does it come out much, or has it just not made its trap yet?

awww excellent!!!
they had a trapdoor spider at the petshop I go to, and some "teenagers" decided it'd be funny to shake the big jar thing it was in when it said do not touch or shake as this can kill the spider... the girl dug her out and luckily she was ok...
needless to say she was taken off teh shelf and placed in the back and luckily someone got her the next day!
they are cute! never really looked at one before!
xxx

We have seen her come out of her trap door a few times to get prey which is amazing to watch

We have had to dig her up 2 times in the past to move her and its fasinating seeing her funnels she makes and the design of the trapdoor, shes getting big!

I've got one which I've never actually seen in its entirety. I think it's black but I've only ever seen its front legs. It came in a shallow container with its trap already made, so all I did was cut the bottom off the container and place it on top of a tub of soil so it could enlarge its trap. It has done so, but although it occasionally takes a cricket I have never seen it catch anything.

That is well and truely a pet hole!

We had ours in a lovely glass aboreal tank around 20 cm worth of soil in it that she managed to burrow all the way to the bottom in!
