Default White deposit on scorpian

Got this asian forest as a rehome a while back all was fine at the start however over the last week or so ive noticed this white deposit build up in the carapace and sting. The animal is eating fine perfectly active and naturally defensive so it doesn't seem to be effecting any behaviour.

There's been no influx of chemicals or anything like that, the room doesn't get sprayed with air freshener or anything else. So far my only theory is that as i was originally just using untreated tap water theres been a build up of all the crap in a mains water supply, since i now use a water treater for all my animals it does seem to have decreased but just looking a few opinions please

Whooaa... doesn't look good at all.. sorry. Is it some sort of mold? mycosis? can you wipe it off? is it expanding?
Cant possibly be poo.. Hmmm..
Your substrate looks very dry from here

Didn't read about the water treater, what is that? a chemical you mix in with tap water?

Dunno, could be poo. My emp's done a couple of randomly mahoosive poos.

Could maybe be mycosis, though that's normally black is it not?

I would suggest using water and cotton/tissue to wipe pretty much every last bit of it off. Perhaps a dilute F10 solution. And then seeing if it recurs or not.

Was it like this when you got it?

I rescued a spider from a guy who powdered crickets with calcium in the spiders tank and it had a similar look, think he was terrified of the crickets so for some reason did it that way.

I'm sure someone with a little more experience posted something like this, white layer which wouldn't come off easily, I think it was put down to a fungal thing..

It looks pretty dry in there, have you tried giving him a little mist? Theres every possibility that its not fungal based but he'll need some moisture to get clean.
