Question mantis shed...?

i tend to live in the lizard section on here, but here goes...

my friend has had a 'giant asian' mantis (i'm really dubious, as i disagree with what the shop told him). he's had this mantis for a few months, and it usually sheds every few weeks. but it hasn't for the past month. i'm not really a voice of experience on mantis sheds, as i thought my mantis was shedding fine, but he died of a shed related problem. i always assumed that they shed less as they got older, but i'd really appreciate it if someone would correct me if i'm wrong.

also, i'll try to get pics of Confucius (the mantis), and maybe you guys could ID him for me?

thanks in advance everyone

if it's got wings , then it's hit adult and won't moult anymore.
If it doesn't then it'll probably be coming up for a moult , you can tell if it's close by looking at how big the wingbuds are on its back, if they're swollen up then it's close to a moult.

thankies. no, he doen't have wings yet, and he's still really quite small, but as we're not 100% on his morph, we do't know how big he should get.
he's kind of camo coloured, and was sold to my friend as giant asian, but i could've sworn that they're generally all one colour, and also no where near as tiny as Confucius...

could be S.lineola or A.coxalis (uncommon brown morph) maybe Tenodera sinensis
if you can get a pic I'll take a good guess

can't get pics as my friend is useless :p but googling those, i don't think he's any of those. he literally has a camo pattern. he looks like he's made from part of an army uniform...

he's not that shape, and has no distinctive markings on his blotchy pattern. he's this shape:

but a mix of colours, and nowhere near that bright...
