Default chilie rose Q

just got myself a chilie rose an ive been wondering if i can use silica sand as substrate? , i dont think it would be any harm to her myself but i would rather be safe than sorry.

Any form of sand will be highly unsuitable for this species of tarantula. Stick to a substrate such as coconut humus, or renewable peat.

Yeah use coco fibre stuff it's only like £3 for a brick! I remember back in the good old days when spiders were spiders i was advised to keep them on vermiculite :P

Nothing wrong with vermiculite?
As long as it's dry for Chili's, I have had some chili's that like it some that haven't.
I always use peat vermiculite mix nowadays.

Theres no need to other than it looks pretty. G.roseas do not need humidity lol. I only use a mix on certain spiders that like it a bit more humid. Why make things more complicated.

I use it for that exact reason, only time it gets wet is if I spill when filling up the water dish.
