Default conservation

i was wondering which species are regarded as endangered and which are protected by CITES, and what is being done to protect them. personally i believe that all boarders should now be closed and steaper regulations/ punishments for people getting caught smuggling.
if we cant breed them...we shouldnt be allowed to keep them.
thanks

This is a vaild point but it can be a tough one to make a judgement on, in some cases there are things have been imported in good numbers for 10/20/30+ years and no one has yet had success in breeding or even keep them alive long term, in other cases there are those succeeding with things that were thought to be near impossable to get going in the past, It depends on whether the imports are hurting the wild populations or not, which is another can of worms .
